The Power of the Divine Light Invocation
The Divine Light Invocation is exactly that: invoking the Light of the Divine.
It corresponds to the Wiccan rituals of
Drawing Down the Moon. Yet it is even more focused and channeled than most forms, and the Power of it is astonishing.
The Moon with Her silver white Light symbolises the Divine Light, to Witches. This is the Light that's worshipped in every religion.
Divine Light is not to be confused with light such as we see it with our eyes. It doesn't relate to the "light and dark" duality of earthly existence.
Rather,
the Divine Light is the most refined metaphor for absolute Divinity that we can perceive, with a human mind.
So the Divine Light Invocation can be used no matter what religious affiliation you might have. There's nothing in it that is specifically "religious," although it is definitely a highly spiritual practice.
It is a practice of connecting with your Essence, and that is suitable on any Path.
This practice comes from Swami Sivananda Radha's book of the same name,
and is used regularly in her Radha Yoga classes.
The Magick and Power of the Divine Light Invocation
The Divine Light Invocation is probably the most powerful spiritual practice I've found. It is
an unparalleled form of Spiritual Magick.
It not only will aid you tremendously in
Preparing Your Sacred Chalice, but it can manifest anything you truly desire.
I cannot over-emphasize the difference it can make in your life.
They say at Yasodhara Ashram that if you do 10 Invocations a day for 30 days, a miracle will happen. I can attest to the validity of this. It wasn't the miracle I thought I was going for, but it was the one I needed.
Who Benefits By the Divine Light
For those who are
sensitive to energies and susceptible to taking on others' stuff, this practice is invaluable! When you keep yourself filled with Light, you protect yourself from negative energies (which protects your health, joy, and well-being).
So it is particularly useful for anyone with allergies and sensitivities, chronic fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, and other systemic imbalances.
Likewise for all
teachers, healers, psychic people, and anyone sensitive to outside Energy Fields.
This is why it's such a great spiritual practice for Wiccans. You can put just about anyone or anything in the Light. Below are some standard examples. The one caution is to avoid putting anyone who is abusing power into the Light.
I credit this practice as helping me heal from both Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Chemical Hypersensitivity Syndrome.
And I know that there is a direct correlation between how much I do this practice, and how well, strong, and energetic I feel from day to day.
A Word About The Light
Some Witches feel uncomfortable with the idea of the Divine Light. Often this stems from a misunderstanding of the Light as disembodied, God-in-Heaven kind of energy.
In fact, the Divine Light Invocation invokes not only the masculine Divinity but the feminine Divinity — the Goddess — as well.
The Light is not only the light we "see" as the Divine. It contains also the Sacred Dark that gives birth to the Light.
The term "Light" is used because it is the closest we can come to envisioning pure Divine Essence, without taking on the facets of personality of the derivative Goddesses and Gods.
